We present detection, photometry and radial velocities of several hundreds of planetary nebulae in the edge-on spirals NGC 891, NGC 4244 and NGC 5907. We determine distances using the Planetary Nebulae Luminosity Function. We study and compare the distribution and kinematics of planetary nebulae as a function of vertical distance from the galactic plane.
